Octopus Energy

THE CHALLENGE

Although Octopus Energy’s name was memorable its branding wasn’t. Tentacles and suckers have never been universally alluring. Research indicated that families, the largest market for consumer energy, were particularly turned off. We were tasked with finding a new brand marque that existing customers could relate to whilst massively broadening Octopus’ family appeal.

THE SOLUTION

During the development and research of this new brand marque, we discovered that short tentacles are friendly while long tentacles are sinister. Step forward Constantine. A warm, very bright and family friendly character that loves the limelight. Constantine adores animation and being centre stage, boosting brand awareness and spiking recall. 

THE RESULT

A great aquatic hit with the hundreds of thousands of new customers he’s helped recruit. 

The CEO and founder, even has a Constantine cuddly toy next to him when he makes major corporate announcements.
